Data security

Two basic requirements for a stress-free smart home are security and data protection for the devices, services, and apps you use. The Home Connect Plus app meets the latest security standards and protects your private data.

Security right from the start

We dont see security as a feature that is developed once and then forgotten. Rather, for us, security is a constant companion in our solutions. Thats why security and data protection were considered from the very beginning in the development of Home Connect Plus. In addition, as we continue to develop new functions, our product teams also make sure that security and data protection are always guaranteed. This means that state-of-the-art encryption standards are used to secure data connections, and personal data is only processed if it is absolutely necessary for our service – and you have given your consent in advance. In addition, we always have independent experts thoroughly and rigorously test the system.

Control over data

It is also important to us that you always have control over the data you share with us. For example, you can connect devices from different smart home brands to the Home Connect Plus app, but you can also revoke access at any time via the app.

Agile developer teams for updates

Lets face it: smart home solutions are also technically complex to implement, even if users dont notice this in everyday practice. We have implemented various quality-assurance processes in our developer teams to avoid errors – and to quickly detect them, should they occur. This also means that Home Connect Plus receives regular updates, not just to deliver new functions, but also to guarantee quality and security.

Data economy – more than just a buzzword

Again and again you can read in the press about companies that earn their money by creating data profiles of their users on the basis of free services, and then turning these data profiles into money. We want to make one thing clear: were not like this! As already stated above, we only store the data that we need to provide and improve our services. This is what data economy means to us  collecting only the data that makes us, or our services, better! Furthermore, we want to develop attractive value-added services that really make your life easier, better, or more economical. Then we can be sure that you are also willing to pay for such value-added services. This is how we want to earn our money – not by spying on you and then cashing in on the knowledge we collect.
