How-to videos: an easy guide to a smart home

The Home Connect Plus app is the perfect upgrade for your smart home system. It doesn’t matter whether you use iOS or Android: either way, you can download the app on your smartphone for free. Our first tutorial will help you set it up.

Adding your smart home devices to Home Connect Plus is quick and easy. Just connect the account of your smart products and you’ll see the devices in the Home Connect Plus app. Go to the tab “Devices” and tap on “Connect new devices”. You can find guided instructions in our tutorial:

With our app, you can centrally control devices from many brands and categories. You want to stay on top of things and be in control? Home Connect Plus offers you the possibility to sort devices by room, whether the bedroom, your living room, or anywhere else. 

Comfort and convenience are now a matter of course: connect different devices using intelligent scenarios and make your life easier. With automations, you can define which processes should be triggered automatically according to the “if-then” principle. Click on the plus symbol in the “Automations” tab to create a new automation. Give it a name – for example, “Prepare breakfast” – and select a suitable image. In the next screen, you define the trigger that activates your automation, which devices are active, and which messages are sent. The best way to do this is to take a look at our tutorials and let them guide you through the process of setting up automations.

You don’t have to be a techie to get started with the topic of smart home. Create individual boards, so you always have your smart devices and favorite functions in view and can call them up directly. To do so, click on the plus symbol in the “Boards” tab. This is where you can create new boards and pin your automations and functions. Just select name, illustration, and colour and you’re ready to go. Discover more about boards in our tutorial. 

The alarm clock rings at 7 a.m. on the dot. A new day begins – in a relaxed way. Because with automations set up in Home Connect Plus, your home wakes up with you. The towels in the bathroom are preheated. The lights in the bedroom slowly turn up, while the blinds open to let the first rays of sunlight shine in. Everything completely automatic. 

Your eyelids are getting heavy and your bed is calling? Just activate your individual sleep mode in our app. All the lights turn off, the security alarm system is activated, and the front door locks. The shutters will also lower automatically – and then nothing stands between you and a good night’s sleep. 

Intuitive and simple, yet more functional than ever before: You can now easily add the conditions “and”, “or”, “GreaterOrEquals” and “LessOrEquals” to your automations. With this update, flexible triggers can be linked to your chosen devices.
